Baby Girl is 3 Years Old!

So Kaylana turned 3 this month...I can't believe how quickly time has gone by.  Since my last post we went on our annual family vacation in May, this year to Disneyland, which Kaylana thoroughly enjoyed.  She still asks for Disneyland 3 months later.  We had a great time and it was wonderful that we were able to go with my brother, Rojohn, and his family.  Since Kaylana and Ashilene are so close in age and play so well together, it was perfect.  They had a blast seeing all the characters, watching the amazing shows, going on whatever rides they could, running around, and swimming in the nicely-heated pool of our hotel at night. 

So I actually cried when Kaylana saw the princesses.  Completely unexpected, but I think I was so overwhelmed seeing the joy and happiness in my daughter's face from talking to and meeting her favorite Disney princesses, Ariel and Tiana, and in a way maybe I was remembering my love for Disney since I was a child.  I am still quite a fanatic, with glass cabinets of Disney kitchenware I have hardly used =)

We have also officially lived in our house for over a year now.  Even though the house was newly renovated when we bought it, we have made some significant changes.  Our latest and greatest project has been the backyard.  It is now completely fenced and we just had new sod laid.  We are super excited for these next few weeks to pass so that we can enjoy running and laying on our grass!  It has already grown quite a bit in less than two weeks but I'm not sure if it is too soon to mow.

Kaylana is almost 38 inches tall now, and a little over 32 lbs.  At her appt last week, she weighed in at 33 lbs, and the doctor said she was overweight!  Can you believe it?  Anyone who has seen Kaylana in person knows that this girl is LEAN.  I mean I can see her ribs when I change her clothes...since when is that overweight???  I told the pediatrician that she is skinnier than all the other kids she plays with her age, and she told me that I have to remember that kids in this area are 50% larger than they should be.  Seriously?  So anyhow, I disregarded her information because Kaylana sometimes hardly eats in a day and I have to bribe her to eat something.  She actually eats healthier than me, I can be eating a cookie and offer her some and she'll say no and ask for carrots or an apple.  HAHA who is this child?  She talks a ton now, full sentences, and lately her favorite phrase has been "What?, Whatchu saying?" and "hecka."  Lol.  She cracks me up.

She still is quite a daredevil, jumping off of everything.  Our sofas have taken quite a beating from her jumping and climbing all over them.  And I can't get over how sweet she is.  If I get hurt she wants to kiss it better, and she loves to help around the house, even though half the time she is just getting in the way...good training for when she is older.  Kaylana will randomly tell me "I love you, Mommy."  I think those are the best moments!!!  Her imagination is growing, and she loves to play cook and feed you.  She loves to play ring around the rosie, hide and seek, and build tents out of blankets.  She has also learned how to unbuckle her seatbelt in her carseat, fun times.  She is just starting to ask to wear certain clothes when she sees them, and so far I am grateful she doesn't go through her drawers and pull everything out to change all day long.  Anyhow, she is awake and needing my attention, so it's time to go!  Here are a few pictures from this month and her birthday...
