Halloween and Kaylana's Blessing!

These last couple of days made up such an awesome weekend. Saturday was Halloween, so we of course had to dress up Kaylana in her adorable pea in a pod costume.

Later on her cousin, Ashilene, came to visit and we had to take pictures of these two cutie pies.






Yesterday we had the opportunity to have Kaylana blessed during Sacrament meeting. It was such a great testimony meeting and the spirit was amazingly strong. I think there were 14 men in that circle, and I was so grateful for those worthy Priesthood holders surrounding my daughter. It was really cool to see my younger brother, T.J., up there as well. What a great blessing it was! I am so grateful to have such a diligent and worthy husband...we are so excited that our fathers and brothers live so close by and were able to participate in the blessing. We had many close friends in addition to family that we were so happy to see there for Kaylana's blessing. Afterwards we had lunch at my parents house and it gave us all an opportunity to grow closer together and celebrate Kaylana!

Happy 2 Months Kaylana!

Kaylana is 2 months old as of yesterday! At her appointment today we found out she is 22 inches long (26th percentile...our lil shorty hehe) and 10 lbs 5 oz(37th percentile). We are so happy she is doing well and continuing to grow healthy and strong. She has now outgrown newborn clothes (although there are some outfits I still manage to fit on her because she has so many cute clothes she hasn't even worn!) and is now wearing 0-3 months clothes. She is such a cutie and so joyful as she learns and develops every day. She loves to talk to us with her coos and other adorable noises. It was so sad to see and hear her cry as she got her shots =( but shortly after she was fine. Tough baby girl! Thanks to my brother Ro for coming as Rigo was busy hard at work! Kaylana loved being held and comforted by her Uncle Rojohn.

Rigo turned 26 last Saturday and we celebrated with some awesome BBQ at his parents house and then with my brothers for ice cream later that night. It is such a blessing to have family close by that we can share special days and moments with. I am grateful that Kaylana will have her grandparents, uncles, and aunties as great examples close by to visit anytime. I find myself missing my sister, Jubie, all the time and calling her practically every day! Although she lives closer than ever since she got married it's still not the same...I wish I could just go to her house and hang out and we could take care of our kiddies together =). Thank goodness for technology I can send her pictures of growing Kaylana and call or e-mail anytime I want.
Rigo is such a great husband and father! He is so supportive and every day he comes home and gives me a break by helping to take care of her. I just feed her and he often does the rest...the burping, changing, playing, consoling, etc. I love to see him bond with our daughter and exchange smiles all the time...she loves her Daddy!
Speaking of smiles, Kaylana laughed for the first time last Friday. My visiting teachers came over and while I was holding her and we were talking she laughed out of nowhere! It was so adorable and she had the most gorgeous huge smile on her face. She did it again later as we were playing and I have loved hearing and seeing her laugh since. It is still so enjoyable when she smiles and laughs in her sleep, just too cute. I also started putting headbands on her and I love it! You can tell she's a girl =) hehehe. Especially during the first month everyone thought she was a boy, even when I put her in pink they would question! Figures, she looks like her Daddy as everyone says. Apparently, she is beginning to look more like me now...lol. I don't know and it doesn't matter to me, all I know is she is beautiful and we love her so so so much!

Kaylana's First Wedding! Well, she wasn't able to be at the sealing so the newlyweds came to us! Congrats again Doug & Luz you guys are awesome! We had Family Home Evening at their new place on Monday and they served us a delicious meal and an amazing lesson...they are already filling their home with so much love!

T.J.'s an Elder!

I am so happy for my little brother, T.J, who received the Melchizedek priesthood last Sunday! I'm super excited because now he'll be able to take part in Kaylana's blessing! T.J. is growing up to be an awesome young man, and I love him tons. Even though he's already bigger than me, well actually he's been taller for a long time now, he'll always be my baby brother. Congrats again bro!

4 Weeks Old!

Well I have wanted to update but haven't quite found the time since I've been adjusting to life with a newborn! Kaylana is now 4 weeks old, she'll be 1 month on Monday! This girl is my everything, she brings so much joy and love into our home and we just can't get enough of her! Despite the lack of sleep and the constant feeding, burping, changing, she is sooooo worth it. I was looking through my pictures and noticed that I have over 100 pictures from her first week of life, and over 200 from her last 3 weeks. I just love taking pictures of her and cherish every single moment that I want to capture everything on camera! Hehehe. She has been smiling more and started making those adorable "Ooohs..."

She already looks so different than she did when she was born! Actually when I was looking through the pictures of her I realized she has changed every week! We have been blessed so much with this little girl and I thank Heavenly Father for this beautiful child every day. I strive to be the best mother to her that I can be and hope that she feels loved and cherished because she sure is! Both mine and Rigo's families have come to visit at least weekly...they just love their granddaughter/niece!

Labor Day! The cousins were staring at each other! Hehe so cute! It is so exciting to have girls the same age! I can't wait to get all 3 of the girl cousins together...they are gonna have so much fun growing up together! Rojohn with his baby girl and my baby girl! Now you can see the size difference...Kaylana is a little over 8 lbs. and Ashilene is over 16 lbs...twice as big literally!

I haven't had the chance to blog about my labor and delivery...actually about a lot of things...and I really want to! But I will definitely get around to those, I hope. It was an unforgettable experience but I think the details may slip my mind if I don't write them down soon. But Kaylana is now awake and crying so I gotta feed my baby girl!!!

Our Beautiful Baby Girl Has Arrived!!!

Kaylana Marie Canizalez was born on Friday, August 14th, 2009 at 8:08pm, weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz. and measuring 19 1/2 inches!!! We are so grateful and could not be happier to have this precious angel in our lives. My sister, Jubie, flew down and made it for Kaylana's arrival! She was such a great coach! I'm so happy she was able to be with us as we welcomed our new baby and grateful for all of her love and selfless support!Daddy is so happy his little girl is finally here!!Finally home from the hospital! Mommy LOVES this girl and cherishes every single second with her!

Photo Update

So this is a pic I took shortly after my last post (at 36 weeks/8+ months along)...found the camera and had Rigo take one. That was a couple weeks ago. Approaching 39 weeks now and this little one is still cooking in the oven...and I'm exhausted already! The back and pelvic pains have gotten worse, and oh man the feet and ankles are super swollen. I put myself on semi-bedrest to make the swelling go down, and it's helped a little...they don't look like potatoes anymore haha. My belly is so heavy and I no longer walk, I waddle. But I guess that's typical at this point. So everything is ready, we are just anxiously awaiting Kaylana's arrival. Any tips on inducing labor naturally? =)

Oh the Aches and Pains...

So I'm 36 weeks and this little girl just keeps growing! I wanted to take a picture of my huge belly but I keep forgetting. I don't remember the last time I slept well, and she's not even here yet! In addition to your typical pelvic/hip pains of pregnancy, I get really bad back pains. She also discovered my ribs and it seems to be her favorite spot at night, causing burning sensations in the frontal ribs and causing sharp pains in the back. I've actually had this mid-back pain for months, but lately it has become increasingly worse, leading to sleepless nights of changing positions or even getting up and walking around to alleviate the pain. Massage, Tylenol, and icy hot patches have not worked effectively enough...so I guess the only solution is to have the baby! Hahaha...hopefully that will happen in the next few weeks.

I couldn't imagine working at this point in my pregnancy. My feet/ankles are super swollen, I haven't worn shoes in over a month because it would leave unpleasant indentations, and I've probably gained 5 lbs. in water weight alone in the last month due to fluid retention. On the brighter side, I can't wait til little Kaylana is here! Every day is more exciting...even though we have everything we could possibly need for her arrival, I still look at baby stuff every day. I've washed all her clothes, blankets, bibs, burp cloths, and beanies up to 6 months! Her closet is so full that some of her clothes have taken over her daddy's side and ended up in my closet as well! Spoiled huh?!? Her nursery is all set...and we can't wait until she gets here!

The last pic I've taken...32 weeks along. I'm much bigger now...and my belly has dropped! This was taken shortly after my 25th birthday...my sweet lil brother T.J. got me ice cream cake for my birthday...YUM!

Baby Shower

My mother-in-law threw me a beautiful baby shower last Saturday. It was great to see so many friends and family! I was exhausted after working Friday night and then waking up early (9 am is early when you get off of work at 1 am and don't fall asleep until 2 or 3 am) to set up for the shower. Rigo, his dad, and brother set up and decorated the night before...and I must say, they did an awesome job for a bunch of guys. Hehe.
















We had quite a turn out and there was still food left over! I still have some of the yummy cake in the fridge that my mom brought.
















I felt bad because I don't think I got a chance to say hi to everyone...a few people came late while I was opening gifts, and even though I was trying to go as fast as possible, most of them left before I was done! Lol...I didn't expect anyone to stay that long though...I felt like I wasn't making any progress cuz it took forever!

So it was a wonderful and tiring day...and we even went to my parents house after to celebrate Rojohn's 30th Birthday! Happy Birthday Kuya! You're the best big brother ever!
