September was a busy month!

and August…and October is getting busy too.  Lol.  I kept saying to myself that I wanted to update last month, but never got around to it.  So Kaylana walks now, and has progressively gotten better every week.  She started walking about the 23rd of August, a little over one week after her birthday!  First it was the Frankenstein walk, then only on carpet, then she was okay with floors, and now she is comfortable walking anywhere!  She also knows to walk around things instead of try to walk through them.  Haha.  When she first started walking she would trip on toys and whatever else happened to be on the carpet.

 

On August 28th, T.J. entered the the temple for the first time to receive his endowment.  It was an awesome experience as all of us were able to be there with him since Jubie flew up for that weekend…actually for about 24 hours.  I picked her up from the airport Saturday morning and dropped her off at the airport Sunday morning.  It was so great to be with my sister again even though I had just seen her a couple weeks before in San Diego!

   

WELL…on September 2nd Rigo and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary! We had dinner and a movie…Inception was a cool movie…one of those that make you think.  I am so grateful for my hard-working husband.  He is so considerate and is always helping out in our home.  Even though I know he is tired from working all day, he will pick up after Kaylana and take care of her so that I can have a break.

 

4 years really flew by, especially with Kaylana now.  I can’t believe she’s already 13 months old.  She went from having 2 teeth last month, to now having 7 teeth!  I was wondering why this past week was really tough, she kept waking up and crying at night because of the pain.  And then her 4 top teeth came through and one more on the bottom!

We celebrated my Dad’s birthday on September 18th.  He is 62 years old and cancer free!  Every day we are grateful that he is with us…and Kaylana loves her Lolo (Grandpa in Tagalog).  He is the only one that she won’t leave to come to me!  I guess I was a Grandpa’s girl as well when I was younger.

On September 26th was T.J.’s farewell.  He gave such a great talk.  I can’t believe my baby brother is all grown up!  He left with my parents to attend General Conference and entered the MTC on October 6th, just a couple days ago!  It was not hitting me that my little brother was already leaving for 2 years to serve a mission, until he called me right before entering the MTC…I started crying like a baby!  But I am truly happy and excited for him and i know he will be a great missionary.  I dreamed of the day that he would enter the temple prior to go on a mission…and now it has come and gone!  We are so proud of T.J. for having the desire and being worthy to be a full time missionary for the Lord.

It was my mom’s birthday on Oct. 7th, but since they had just returned from their trip to Utah, we will be celebrating today…so I’m off to pick her up and take her for her birthday present! (I got her a gift card to Sephora and a makeover…even though she doesn’t need it, I want her to feel really great!)  So it is back to being busy!

Kaylana is 1 year old! and San Diego Trip…

Last Saturday Kaylana turned 1!  She also had her first trip on an airplane!  We flew down to San Diego for our nephew’s baptism and I couldn’t get the day off so we had to fly Saturday morning.  Kaylana was very well behaved because she slept through most of the flight, which was awesome for us.  We picked up our rental car, went to my sister’s house, changed, picked up some last minute things for her at Costco, and went straight to the baptism!  It was great to see Kainoa get baptized and hear T.J. give the talk on baptism.  I’m sure it will be the first of many, as he was called to serve a full-time mission in Paraguay, Asuncion North Spanish-speaking mission.  He will be heading to the MTC in October.  We are so excited and proud of him!

I am catching up as I realized I haven’t blogged in over 2 months.  After the baptism we had a lil celebration at a nearby park for Kaylana’s birthday and Kanioa’s baptism.  Kaylana seemed more intrigued by all the people surrounding her than the actual huge cake that was in front of her.

I love the dress she is wearing.  I got it a while back and am so glad it fit her for her birthday!

 

We relaxed the whole weekend as it was our first vacation this year.  Here are some pictures of the girl cousins playing.

 

 

My parents were leaving Monday, so we walked(my sister lives by the beach and the hotel was only a few blocks away but two strollers plus two little boys running around is more challenging!) to their hotel and the kiddies opened presents from Uncle Rojohn & Auntie Merilee.  Afterwards we ate some yummy pho and took casual cousin and family pictures. 

Kaylana loved her present: a Little People car! She enjoyed everyone else’s presents too.  Haha.

T.J. finally got in the picture with us after he set up the tripod!  Kaylana was kicking Auntie Marc’s head.  Lol.

 

 

The next day we went to Seaworld! Yay!  We finally rode a ride as my sister came with us and we swapped kids to ride.  Here is Rigo and Kainoa on Journey to Atlantis.

 

We got to see tons of animals, which we loved, especially the penguins, puffins, beluga whales, dolphins, polar bears and fishies.  Kaylana got a kick out of touching the ice wall that simulated the Arctic.

 

I saw this awesome sign at one of the shows and had to get a picture. All the shows are great at SeaWorld, especially the Sea Lions if you want a laugh and Blue Horizons if you like the Cirque du Soleil type and dolphins. Pets Rule and Shamu were great too of course.  Kaylana was all cuddly by the end of the day.

Being down by San Diego, we had to hit the beach at some point.  Kaylana got in her swimsuit for the first time!

At first she cried when the water hit her, but after a few waves, she was loving it!  Yay water lover like her Mama!

 

 

 

 

  Kaylana kissed and hugged her cousins goodbye, and we had to head home back to reality.  But it was a fun and relaxing vacation!

The day after we got home we had a celebration with the Canizalez side.  Kaylana opened more presents and got to eat her first cake…she loved it and made a mess!

 

 

 

 

She really dug into that cake.  Oh frosting! Kaylana has truly been a blessing in our lives.  She brings so much joy and happiness into our home and is seriously one of the most smiley babies.  I could not have asked for a sweeter or more precious child and am so grateful to be her mother.
